[Football] Week 12: GPAC Football Players of the Week

Football – Mon, Nov. 15, 2021

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following football players-of-the-week for games played on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2021-22 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/ Football Players-of-the-Week

Offense – Levi Jungling, Wide Receiver (Dordt University)
Dordt wide receiver Levi Jungling is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Jungling, a senior from Pella, Iowa, accounted for three touchdowns with one via reception, one via rush and one via pass. In all he caught five passes for 102 yards. It was the fifth time this season he had 100 yards or more receiving in a game. The Defenders finish the season with a 7-3 record.

Defense – Tyler Wingert, Linebacker (Morningside University)

Morningside linebacker Tyler Wingert is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Wingert, a senior, from Holstein, Iowa, had a single-game career-high for tackles to lead the Mustangs. For the game he tallied 18 total tackles and also had a personal career-best in tackles for loss with four. The Mustangs host Ottawa University of Arizona on November 20 in the opening round of the NAIA Football Championships Series. Kick off will be at Noon.

Special Teams – Korrell Koehlmoos, Kunter/Returner (Concordia University)
Korrell Koehlmoos of Concordia is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week. Koehlmoos, a junior from Pilger, Nebraska, was active in multiple facets of the Concordia special team unit. His pooch punting played a role in the Bulldogs limiting Hastings to seven points in last week’s victory. Four of Koehlmoos’ eight punts were downed inside the 20. In those instances, the Broncos started at their own 18, 7, 10 and 3, respectively. He also returned a kickoff for 23 yards and caught two passes for 29 yards. The Bulldogs finish the season with a 7-3 record.
